The duties of the city engineer shall be as prescribed by ordinance or the city manager. Wherever the designations “director of public works,” “city engineer” or “public works engineer” appear in any ordinance of the city, the same shall be construed to mean the city engineer or the city engineer’s designee. (Ord. 876 § 2, 1977).
