Effective January 1, 1978, members of the planning commission shall receive such compensation as shall be established by the city council, if any, in the annual budget for the city. In addition, commission members shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in connection with official duties as provided in the ordinances and resolutions governing the reimbursement for expenses incurred by employees and officers of the city.
