A. Every grading permit issued by the city shall expire two years from the date of issuance. The director may approve a request for an extended expiration date not to exceed an additional 180 days where a construction schedule is provided by the applicant and approved prior to permit issuance.

B. Every permit which has been expired for less than 90 days may be renewed for a period of one year for an additional extension fee, provided no changes have been made to the originally approved plans and associated site conditions have not changed, and any proposed revisions to the grading design have been reviewed and approved by the city prior to the original expiration date. For permits that have been expired for longer than 90 days, a new grading permit must be applied for with submittal of new fees. No permit shall be renewed more than one time.

C. The director may authorize a 180-day extension to an expired permit for the purpose of performing inspections and completing the work associated with the permit, provided all the remaining inspections and all grading work is completed within the 180-day extension period. If deficient items as noted during any inspections are not completed within the 180-day extension period, the permit shall return to expired status.

D. The fee for a 180-day extension shall be set within the city’s fee resolution. (Ord. 2269 § 1, 2018).
