A. The following acts are prohibited:

1. Any failure to install or maintain FOG pretreatment device.

2. The direct addition into the building plumbing, grease trap, or interceptor of enzymes, chemicals, or other agents designed to emulsify grease compounds. Grease trap or interceptor design and sizing criteria are based on gravimetric separation for grease and solids removal. The addition of enzymes or chemical emulsion agents would impede the gravimetric separation and defeats the purpose of the grease trap or interceptor.

3. Any attempt to modify a grease trap or interceptor into a biological reactor by adding bacterial or microbial agents.

4. Knowingly making any false statements, representation, record, report, or other document filed with the city or any person who falsifies, tampers with, or knowingly renders inaccurate any monitoring device or method required under this chapter.

B. Termination of Treatment Services. The city shall have the authority to terminate sanitary sewer services to the user and revoke any permit issued if it determines that the user has:

1. Failed to accurately report wastewater constituents and characteristics more than once; or

2. Failed to report significant changes in wastewater constituents, characteristics, flow volumes, or types of discharge to the sanitary sewer system;

3. Refused reasonable access to the user’s premises for purposes of inspection or monitoring; or

4. Violated any of the provisions of this chapter, regulations promulgated hereunder, state law, or federal law;

5. Violated any lawful order of the city issued with respect to the user’s permit or this chapter; or

6. Tampered with, disrupted, damaged, or rendered inaccurate any wastewater monitoring device or FOG pretreatment device required by this chapter. (Ord. 2261 § 7, 2018).
