10.60.010 Criminal penalties.
For violations of this title not provided for in the penalty provisions of the Model Traffic Ordinance adopted by reference in Chapter 10.10 BMC, the following apply:
A. Unless otherwise provided by state law or the provisions of this title, the maximum penalty for an offense which is designated as a misdemeanor is a maximum fine of $1,000 or 90 days in jail or by both such fine and imprisonment. Unless otherwise provided by state law or the provisions of this title, there shall be no minimum penalty for an offense designated as a misdemeanor.
B. Unless otherwise provided by state law or the provisions of this title, the maximum penalty for an offense which is designated as a gross misdemeanor shall be a fine of $5,000 or one year in jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Unless otherwise provided by state law or the provisions of this title, there shall be no minimum penalty for an offense designated as a gross misdemeanor. (Ord. 1800 § 3, 2000; Ord. 1627 § 1, 1996).
