A. This section shall not be deemed to prohibit the erection upon private property adjacent to streets or highways of signs giving useful directional information and of a type that cannot be mistaken for an official sign.

B. Every sign, signal or marking prohibited by this section is declared to be a public nuisance and the city council is empowered to remove the same or cause it to be removed without notice.

C. No sign(s) and/or advertising display(s) shall be so situated adjacent to the public right-of-way so as to impair vision affecting the safe flow of traffic upon the public right-of-way, and this section shall apply whether or not said sign(s) and/or display(s) shall be located on or off private property, and in the event said sign(s) and/or display(s) be located on private property, then subsection D of this section shall be applicable.

D. No person shall place, or authorize to be placed, or allow the continued placement of any temporary sign on any part of the public right-of-way except an approved traffic-control device or street sign under the provisions of this code. (Ord. 1627 § 1, 1996).
